An American in London...

London is FANTASTIC !!! I absolutely love it.

Here are a few items of note:

1. Look Right. The driving on the opposite sides of the street has serious pedestrian implications. Good thing the Brits write it on the floor to remind us all. They are a considerate folk.

2. The London men LOVE their pink shirts. I am not even kidding - from pale rose petal to bubblegum, the London businessmen rock all the shades. Unlike the Fratty Americans, the Brit men OWN their pink.

3. The Changing of the Guard s at Buckingham Palace is interesting, but more so for the musical experience than anything else. In this ceremony, the Foot Guards played such favourites as "Star Wars" and "Indiana Jones."

The throng in front of the palace for the changing of the guard was massive.

The photo frenzy was so frenetic as to result in bizarre American behaviors. Here is an example of some guy-on-guy action:

4. Dollar vs. Pound Sterling : Dollar loses.

Mmmm this sumptous array of sweets from a SoHo cafe seemed like a great idea (for a group of three, not just myself!!)...

This was a £25 lesson in practice that $ ≠ £. In a BIG WAY.

Remember, if you want to live like a king/queen, travel to where the purchasing power parity is in your favor...

Your American dollar is no good in London.
